Barista Techniques (Introduction to Coffee Making)

This is an Introduction to essential espresso techniques and will provide you withy the Basic skills & knowledge so that you can progress to the more advanced Barista Techniques of espresso making. Participants will gain the skills and knowledge required to extract and serve espresso coffee using a commercial coffee machine, including storage of coffee, cleaning, care and preventative maintenance of machinery.

Do I need this Certificate?

Mi Training offers a wide variety of coffee making courses from the home barista to the more advanced Prepare & Serve Espresso Coffee.

The first step to becoming a professional barista is to attend Barista Techniques (Introduction to Coffee), follow this unit with Advanced Barista Techniques and your on your way to becoming a professional Barista.

Most employers will require a Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment to Prepare & Serve Espresso Coffee.

Course Content:

Participants will gain introductory skills and knowledge required to extract and serve espresso coffee using a commercial espresso machine, including storage of coffee and cleaning, care and preventative maintenance of machinery. It applies to the baristas and others who make coffee or wanting to make coffee using a commercial espresso machine in a variety of hospitality settings.

 Duration:

4.5 Hour knowledge and awareness course including assessment.

Certificates:

Participants will receive their Certificates upon successful completion in Barista Techniques ( Introduction to Coffee Making).

Course Frequency and Cost:

The Barista Techniques ( Introduction to coffee making) runs weekly and costs $55.00 including GST.
