About the BSB51107 Diploma of Management

This qualification specifies the competencies required to manage teams and individuals in a work place. It requires candidates to:
plan and initiate alternative approaches to skills or knowledge applications across a broad range of technical and/or management requirements, evaluation and co-ordination
· apply knowledge and skills, with substantial depth in some areas where judgement is required in planning and selecting appropriate equipment, services and techniques for self and others
· participation in development of strategic initiatives as well as personal responsibility and autonomy in performing complex technical operations or organising others. It may include participation in teams including teams concerned with planning and evaluation functions. Group or team co-ordination may be involved
· demonstrate understanding of a broad knowledge base incorporating theoretical concepts, with substantial depth in some areas
· analyse and plan approaches to technical problems or management requirements
· transfer and apply theoretical concepts and/or technical or creative skills to a range of situations
· evaluate
· take responsibility for own outputs in relation to broad quantity and quality parameters
- take some responsibility for the achievement of group outcomes

Learning Strategies:
Currently studies are via correspondence.
You will receive a Learner guide for each unit of the course. These guides provide you with a series of structured learning activities that will guide you through the requirements of the unit. Your learning is self-paced meaning you can progress at your own rate. You will be required to access and research information from the internet. Details of the web addresses and processes will be provided.
You will also have access to one of PDT’s qualified trainers or “coach”, who will be available either by email, web forum or telephone to support your ongoing learning needs.
PDT coaches are very experienced and are selected due to the fact that they possess all of the following:
· Significant experience within management and the training industry
· A desire and commitment to help people achieve their goals
· Personally hold the Diploma of Management
Each student is personally inducted into the program by their coach so that the student understands learning and assessment processes.
