This accredited course is an induction program designed as a preparatory program prior to entry to a building and construction workplace in compliance with statutory requirements of the Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995. It is intended to provide new and existing building and construction industry participants with the introductory knowledge and understanding needed to commence or continue in the building and construction industry.

• Material Safety Data Sheets
• Emergency Procedures

• Hazard and Incident Reporting and Recording
• Roles, Rights and Obligations under Workplace Health and Safety Legislation
• Duty of Care under Common Law

Delivery: The program is delivered in a classroom setting. It combines face-to-face, facilitator led theory sessions and small groups and individual activities. Participants are provided unit of competence reference materials with notes.

Duration: 4 hours

Assessments: Assessments are competency based and include a variety of written questions, activities and case studies.
