Cost

$6500.00 Short programs attract fees, which can be tax deductible for individuals in some cases. Please consult your accountant for specific advice.

Delivery

Full time program. Proposed Timetable Tuesday afternoon 48pm and Friday afternoon 125pm, over 2 semesters (15 weeks per semester) plus work experience, selfdirected learning and mastery hours.

Entry Requirements

• HSC or equivalent
• Demonstrated minimum 60 hours in Pilates practical sessions (matwork)
• Successful completion of Anatomy and Physiology study with intermediate knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy
• This course does not contain limitations on access and equity but it reserves the right to refuse an application if there is reasonable evidence to suggest the applicant is physically incapable of carrying out the normal requirements of Pilates training practice.

Training Program Information

The Certificate IV in Pilates Instruction is seen as an entry into the dynamic Pilates Industry and aims to develop students into Pilates Instructors who can operate in a professional and specialised studio environment and work with low risk healthy client groups.

Participants completing the course will be able to:
• Develop, conduct and evaluate a Pilates program
• Evaluate the performance of individual clients or groups and apply teaching methods and instructional styles in a variety of Pilates settings
• Undertake basic dynamic postural screening using applied biomechanics
• Work in a variety of Pilates studios as a Pilates Instructor with different and specialised low risk client groups.

• Methods of communication in dealing with clients and colleagues
• Adult learning and instructional techniques for oneonone and groups
• Systematic approaches to Pilates Studio and Matwork programming
• Pilates exercises for special conditions
• Work ethics and professional development
• Pilates repertoire for Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, barrels, and small apparatus from introductory to intermediate levels.

Enrolment process:
1. Application complete application form
2. Enrolment following acceptance you will formally enrol in the course.
3. Precourse following acceptance into the course you will be issued with a Participant Study Guide and preliminary course material in preparation for the program.

Course Cost Inclusions:
• Course fees include attendance at all contact and tutorial days, student manuals and handouts, logbooks, all assessments, tutorial support and ongoing monitoring.
• Placement for work experience hours within training studio and affiliated studios
• Assistance with job placement on successful course completion
• Affiliate network for mentoring and information sharing

Extra Costs (additional to course fees)
• This course requires you to complete self mastery sessions. These session costs are to be covered by the student.
• Membership to Pilates Alliance Australasia (www.pilatesalliance.net) is available at the discounted rate of $50.

Recognition may allow you to complete your qualification faster. TAFE NSW recognises the skills and knowledge that you may have gained through previous studies, the workplace and life experiences. You may be entitled to gain Recognition that will exempt you from attending one or more modules. Possible Career Opportunities

As a graduate of the Certificate IV in Pilates Instruction you will enter the Pilates Industry at entry level where you can work unsupervised with low risk clients.
