The Australian Skills Voucher Program is coming to a close, no more vouchers will be issued after the 31st March 2008. The program will be replaced with "Skilling Australia"

This new initiative will increase opportunities for Australians and includes the delivery of 450,000 new training places in areas of skill shortage over the next four years commencing 1st April 2008.

Of the total additional vocational education and training places funded over the next four years, more than 175,000 will be allocated to people who are currently outside the workforce. A further 275,000 places will provide opportunities for people who are employed but need to update their skills and qualifications.
