| I recently came across 2 articles from the office of Minister Gillard concerning the Northern Territory and Queensland Governments commitment to join the Australian Government to deliver Existing Worker training places, but when you followed the link at the bottom of the page, you were taken to the DEEWR PPP site into a dead end. There was no further information about the articles that took you there in the first place. I did find the page eventually regarding current pilots underway but nothing on NT or Qld. Confusion reigns in the VET sector and the hardworking people at DEEWR unfortunately add to the chaos. I have great respect for the staff at DEEWR, they work hard in an ever changing political environment but a truly 'industry' driven system also requires that information be readily and easily accessible for industry and if the current process is anything to go by, we ain't there yet, not by long shot! If you need information on the Productivity Places Program, don't visit the DEEWR site, chat with your local state training authority, Apprenticeship Centre or Industry Skills Council. These organisations are filled with very experienced and knowledgeable staff that can navigate the system for you. |
