RSA to go mandatory in ACT

News today that Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) will go mandatory according to the ACT government.

After it has been compulsory for other states including NSW and QLD since 2005, it is believed lack of resources were the reason why the ACT were dragging their heels, with this issue.

Unfortunately however due to a spate of alcohol related incidents over the Xmas New Year period the Goverment believe that it is now time. It is a shame that we had to wait for these attacks to come to the realisation that training employees on the the obligations required for the Liquor Act is a legal requirement.

Especially considering Employers are not providing a duty of care to their staff in not educating them and therefore keeping them safe.
