Written by gavin.howard

It looks like the NSW government may follow the leads of Qld with the introduction of Compulsory Food Safety Training.

With the backing of the NSW Restaurant and Catering Association who believe that the previous laws of "naming and shaming"serious breaches of the law are a waste and do not educated the community, or employees compulsory training could be the answer.

The importance of quality food hygiene and safe food practices are essential fundamental requirements and most consumers would expect that operators have a handle on this concept. However if you have been a regular viewer of Ramsey's Nightmares as well as Current Affair, Today Tonight etc. then not everything regarding safe handling of food is "common sense" Some operators do not have any clue or are too lazy to uphold basic food handling practices.

So like RSA- Food Hygiene will be the next compulsory serve of training for the hospitality industry and not before time too.
